Ain’t got no net..

Arriving late last night at a friend’s newly rentet appartment I had no internet connection and couldn’t get the daily 30-day trial post online.

So here it comes, late but .. good?

Lunch
– Sauerkraut, a small bowl
– Beef & vegetable soup, 2-3 bowls
– Coco tops, 40 grams
– Acetyl L-carnitine in water w/ 4 omega-3 capsules

Dinner
– Vegetable wok 500 g+ 500 ml coconut milk: 1100 kcal, 20 g protein, 92 g carbs, 94 g fat

The dinner was too much and got my stomach complaining – and kept me fed for the rest of the evening.

Also tired early around 10-11 pm and got to bed about 12 am. Got up a little before 7 am, not fully rested, but not a big problem getting up..

Hard time waking up..

I’ve had a hard time getting up in the mornings, and when I finally get out of bed I feel really tired for maybe 15-30 minutes till I’ve gotten some light exercise done to get my heart pumpin’..

Oh well, not sure what to contribute it to, I think I’m still somewhere in the middle between fat burner and carb burner – not being sure if that has anything to do with it.. :-/

The most positive I’ve noticed the last 20+ days is that I fall asleep way easier now, not having to lay around for hours on end feeling restless and annoyed I can’t fall asleep. I also feel like my mind is starting to function again and memory improving. Not sure if it’s just imagined or not so far, but it’s the first time in a long while I’ve felt this positive about regaining more of my mental health ๐Ÿ™‚

I do have some odd feelings of tiredness at various times during the day though, but it vanishes as quickly as it “appears”, so not a big problem, but makes me curious what it is and if maybe I should try with some bi-phase sleeping – from what I’ve read that’s what our biology is most adapt to.. Go figure ๐Ÿ™‚ It will be a 30-day trial at some point. I have also considered polyphasic sleeping, like Leonardo sleeping 20 minutes every 4th hour – but for social reasons I think that might be a far stretch – society just isn’t ready for that sort of thing ๐Ÿ˜‰ But bi-phasic I could do, and will try at some point this year or the next.

Well, back to my diet notes:

Breakfast
– Sauerkraut (LOVING it!)
– Wild salmon, 125 g
– L-glutamine, 2 scoops

Lunch
– Sauerkraut, small bowl before the soup
– Beef & vegetable soup, 2 bowls
– L-glutamine, 2 scoops

Snack
– Coco tops, 50 g (coconut flakes and egg whites heated and shaped into tops, not quite successful without sugar which usually does much of the binding..)

Dinner
– Spicy lamb curry
– L-glutamine, 2 scoops

Supper
– Sauerkraut (Strange but great!)

Got news from my skydiving club today that the student field is now open again, so tomorrow evening or very early Saturday I’ll be driving back there (3+ hour drive) for some free falling ๐Ÿ™‚ Have already arranged to sleep on a friend’s couch there for the weekend, so it’s all set ๐Ÿ™‚ This is one of the friends I’m going sailing with in January from the Virgin Islands, so this’ll also give us the opportunity to discuss the trip there and our one week travels in LA/Vegas ๐Ÿ™‚ ..And of course hit up some Fifa on the Xbox..

Good times ahead this weekend, and next weekend I’m leaving for two weeks in Spain, should be good too – just gotta start working on that tan a little so I don’t burst into flames the first day there.

Dream of blue skies!

Another busy day..

Turns out restructuring my life and preparing for a short year of travel is more work than I thought it would be. Things are falling into place nicely though, but still things to consider and do to be as prepared as I can be for the year ahead ๐Ÿ™‚

Breakfast
– Wild salmon, 125 g

Lunch
– Acetyl L-Carnitine in water w/ four omega-4 capsules
– Vegetable wok 250 g + 250 ml coconut milk: 550 kcal, 10 g protein, 46 g carbs, 47 g fat
– L-glutamine, 2 spoons (3-4 g)

Dinner
– Sauerkraut (starting to really like it)
– Beef & vegetable soup leftovers, 2.5 bowls
– Papaya, one piece
– Yellow apple, one piece
– L-glutamine, 2 spoons

Supper
– Sauerkraut (yummie!)

So back to some fruit, think maybe brought on by the bacteria in the sauerkraut – or possibly some other cravings kicking back in – no more fruit till I’ve finished these 30 days now and leave for two weeks in Spain.

Good night ๐Ÿ™‚

Lunch
– Acetyl L-Carnitine
– Bone marrow from preparing beef & vegetable soup

Dinner
– Bone marrow
– Beef & vegetable soup/broth

Supper
– Mackerel ย with sauerkraut (home made!) on the side

In bit of a hurry to get some sleep tonight, will elaborate on the sauerkraut tomorrow ๐Ÿ˜‰

The crave is on!

Ok. I had a hard time getting up this morning, but finally got up close to 12 am.

After drinking half a litre of water and sobbing downstairs I did an easy morning routine with some hindu squats and push-ups to get my body going. Afterwards felt more awake and live, so went for a shower and then breakfast.

Breakfast:
– Acetyl L-Carnitine in water w/a multivit capsule and 3 omega-3 capsules.
– Vegetable wok 500 g + 250 ml coconut milk: 625 kcal, 12.5 g protein, 37.5 g carbs, 47 g fat

Lunch:
– Liver, ~150 g, 260 kcal (40 g p, 7 g c, 7 g f)
– w/onion, broccoli and swedish turnip

Pre dinner:
– L-Glutamine, one tsp
– Egg, one cooked sunny side up, 90 kcal (6 p, 0 c, 7 f)

Dinner:
– Wild salmon, 125 g, 142.5 kcal (25 p, 0 c, 4.75 f)

Supper:
– Vegetable wok 250 g + 250 ml coconut milk: 550 kcal, 10 g protein, 46 g carbs, 47 g fat

So adding up the rough numbers today I get maybe 1700 kcal and 83.5 g protein – which is way too much protein and somewhat low on the energy!

No wonder I’ve been feeling intense cravings today. I’m really not getting a hang of including enough fat in my diet yet, and only 9 days left of this 30 day trial.. I can already determine this hasn’t been a 100% successful 30-day trial, but still I’m pretty happy about my progress. I finally got started and now have a lot of experience trying to stay high fat – and still my to learn ๐Ÿ™‚

Tomorrow will be more fatty!

Wok’s the word..

Breakfast
– Acetyl L-Carnitine
– Vegetable wok 500 g + 250 ml coconut milk: 625 kcal, 12.5 g protein, 37.5 g carbs, 47 g fat

Lunch (post workout)
– Wild Salmon, 125 g, 142.5 kcal (25 g protein, 0 carbs, 4.75 g fat)

Snack
– Blueberries, aproximately a cup

Dinner
– Coconut oil, one tablespoon, 30 g
– Vegetable wok 450 g + 250 ml coconut milk: 587 kcal, 12 g protein, 28 g carbs, 47 g fat

Quite a bit of woking today, tomorrow I’ll go for more beef and some omega-3 capsules if I remember taking it..

Energy intake somewhat on the low side, will up that as well.

Home sweet home ..

So packed my bags and traveled back home today.

Breakfast
– Vegetable wok with coconut milk and green curry paste, probably about 400 kcal

Lunch
– ย Chicken, grilled, half, 200 g?, 432 kcal (34 grams)

Dinner
– Vegetable wok with coconut milk and green curry paste, estimate 625 kcal

Snack
– Blueberries, a handful, 17 kcal

Supper
– Sardines, smoked and canned, 80 grams, 150 kcal (13 grams)

So a total of 400 + 432 + 625 + 16 + 150 = ย 1623 kcal and 34 + 13 = 47 grams.

The calories are on the low side, but with today’s activity level it’s not too bad, and the proteins should be sufficient.

Now that I’m back home I’ll catch up on a few things and soon I am at finally giving you an overview of the science behind choosing fat over carbohydrates, and of course with some additional sources and reading material to boot ๐Ÿ˜‰

So check back for some informational diet talk ๐Ÿ™‚

Breaking a promise..

Having a little bit of alcohol today, because of likely my last day in Bergen for a longe time, but keeping it on the very low and low..

Will be interesting to see if it’s easier to drink just a little than usual, which I’ve read others reporting after staying on a high fat diet for some time..

Today’s meals:

Breakfast
– ย Beef and vegetable soup, double portion of yesterday

Lunch
– Coconut oil, one tablespoon, ~30 g

Dinner
–ย Vegetable wok with coconut milk and green curry paste, probably about 400 kcal

Then some alcohol, will report the total for that later ๐Ÿ™‚

Update: Only 100 ml Choya (15%) at the vorspiel and ended up skipping the city life as everyone was determined to go to a place on the opposite side of town, which I always find really boring, so just went back to the apartment to chill out and get an early sleep in stead ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

So much for a final night on the town in Bergen before my travels. I might return next weekend if there’s a chance of skydiving, but probably not, and if so it’ll be all about skydiving and no partying, me thinks..

Good night world!

Soup’s the word ๐Ÿ™‚

This post update will be short

Breakfast
– Beef and vegetable soup, leftovers that I brought with me from home for the trip ๐Ÿ™‚

Snack
– Pure coconut juice, 200 ml (bought at the health food store’s fridge, so sceptical about the fat content/healthyness as it was pure liquid at about 8 degrees celcius)

Dinner
– Beef and vegetable soup

Supper
– Vegetable wok with coconut milk and green curry paste, probably 800 kcal

I’ll look into maybe having smallers meals in the evening. Doesn’t look promising for any skydiving this weekend, so will probably return home tomorrow or saturday.

Have a good one!

In the land of race-car-yayas..

Been driving today and doing various arrends, and checked out my shed that someone had broken into. Couldn’t find anything missing, so that’s at least positive ๐Ÿ™‚

Only two meals today:

Breakfast
– Lamb stew, leftovers from the other day, estimate >1000 kcal? Some meat, lots of fat and thick liquid..

Dinner
– Vegetable wok with coconut milk and green curry paste, probably 800 kcal.

Another good day energy- and dietwise. Been very thirsty today though, so probably didn’t drink enough water while driving for hours after the fatty breakfast.

I’ll do better ๐Ÿ™‚
